Different Types of Hazwoper Training Courses

The online Hazmat safety course offered by OHA is called the Hazwoper training course. This course teaches the participants all about the hazardous waste operations and emergency response standards. These courses are supposed to be taken up by individuals who work at potentially hazardous sites.

The government mandates that all the workers who have a job description that consists of Uncontrolled Hazardous Waste Operations take up the 40 hour Hazwoper course. The 40 hour Hazwoper course has to be taken up by the clean up operators and those involved in emergency response operations. This course is also meant for all those handling, storing and disposing off the hazardous waste at hazardous work sites.

The Hazwoper 24 hour course is supposed to be taken up by those who do not work at hazardous waste sites regularly. It is intended for those workers who occasionally visit hazardous waste sites as a part of their job description. This course gives a complete overview of what has to be done in emergency situations and all those issues dealing with hazardous waste sites.

Along with the 40 hour and the 24 hour courses, an 8 hour refresher training course is also offered by OSHA. This course gives additional training to those who have not taken the previous courses in a while.
