Refresher Course -Brief Idea

OSHA, the main federal agency of US Department of Labor, has started HAZWOPER training for the workers to reduce accidents, deaths and injuries at hazardous working sites. HAZWOPER , a kind of safety training, is designed for the workers working at hazardous conditions and sites to ensure their safety and enhancing the working site environment. The courses offered by HAZWOPER are:

• 8hour annual HAZWOPER refresher training

• 24 hour HAZWOPER training

• 40 hour HAZWOPER training

The HAZWOPER 8 hour course is specially designed for workers of the general site whose work includes the removal of hazardous wastes or for the workers those who are exposed to the potential hazardous substance of any kind of other health hazards. The 8hour annual refresher course meets all the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. The workers who are exposed to hazardous substance and hazardous waste also require this course. This course includes the topics: HAZWOPER regulations, hazardous chemicals, safety and health plans, respiratory equipment, air monitoring safety and health plans, decontamination, and site control.

The trainees will have to complete this course within 8 hours and prerequisites of the trainees is that - they must have to complete 40 hour or 24 hour of HAZWOPER training. This course help the trainees to get the following benefits:

• Identify and minimize the hazards at working place

• Developing a Medical Surveillance Program and understanding its purpose
